The past decade has seen CITIC Intl. successfully bidding and executing many mega-projects, including the Tehran Metro Project in Iran. The remarkable achievements reached fully demonstrate the company's overall strength and capability in undertaking overseas engineering projects and leverage CITIC's reputation in the field of electromechanical products import and export and international engineering project contracting. In 2001, CITIC Intl. ranked 165 among the Top 225 International Contractors by the U.S. magazine Engineering News-Record, which acknowledged CITIC Intl.'s success as an international contractor.

In 2002, the company was ranked No.165 of the ENR's Top 225 International Contractors when the first time participated, at the same time, domestically, China International Contractors Association also awarded CITICICC the special prize of National Overseas Construction Contractors in 2000-2002, and what is more, CITICICC ranked the 5th for overseas contracting amount among all the Chinese construction and engineering companies.
At present stage, the overseas markets that have been mainly expanded by us including Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America. Fields of business covers railway, metro, airport, harbor, building material, chemical industry, metallurgy industry, environmental protection, energy and so on.

Metalurgy:

Recently, CITIC International Cooperation Co., Ltd. (CITICICC) achieves great breakthroughs in the field of metallurgy industry. Since the execution of Iran Zarand Coke-making Plant Project in 2003, CITICICC has successfully gained new market in South Africa by singing the contract of Mittal Steel South Africa Newcastle Battery No.2 and Gas Plant Project. Later, CITICICC was awarded two other coke-making plant projects in Iran, i.e. Alborz Negin Coke-making Plant Project and North Coke-making Plant Project, making the whole capacity of the coke-making plants contracted by CITICICC reaching 1.05 million tons per year and the total contracted value USD 110 million. CITICICC also keeps a close tie with other coke-making plant projects in Iran, South Africa, Australia and East Europe.

Meanwhile, CITICICC takes an active part in tender and negotiation of aluminum smelter projects in Iran and Malaysia, with the whole capacity of the smelters in tender or under negotiation of 780000 tons per year. CITICICC is also in close contact with aluminum smelter projects in Qatar, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.

Chemical Industry:

Since the access to the market of construction of chemical-industrial projects in Central Asia, CITIC International Cooperation Co., Ltd. (CITICICC) has brought forth its comprehensive strength in management of overseas projects with its professional personnel, management criteria and excellent products, and has attracted the attention of various investors.

CITICICC started its business in Central Asia with a contracting project of Construction of Kungrad Soda Ash Plant (100,000t/a) in Uzbekistan, which is one of the pivot projects in local chemical industry. The project started with the construction of the process plant on September 1, 2003, and has accomplished the completion of civil construction and equipment installation & commissioning as a preparation for the normal production in the near future.

Environment and Energy

Economic construction and environmental protection are the two important issues for the development of the current society. We have concentrated our strength in field of energy, electric power and environmental protection while actively taking part in construction of infrastructure. By cooperating with scientific researching institute and manufacturers and employing our own financing strength and advantages in the market, we have explored a characterized "Green Environment Road" in the fields of electric power, urban water supply and waste water treatment, city environment modification and environmental energy exploration and utilization.
