Caterpillar transporter is a device to transporting the station of driving of conveyor belts in an opencast mine of the lignite coal from the assembly square on the strip mine and for transferring them during the exploitation of the transporter system. Conveyors are adapted for moving stations working at B1600, B1800, B2250, B2400 systems. Depending on climatic conditions the place of the operator can be warmed or air-conditioned. There is a possibility of additional equipping with the remote steering, radio or transit place.

For FUGO as the producer of conveyors, fundamental meaning in years 70 had - decision on construction of the biggest Polish mine of the lignite coal - Be%u0142chatów. To needs of this Mine the factory made five conveyors of the TUR type 500-1 and TUR 500-2, of driving stations serving for transporting, in which modern drives were applied with planetary transmission gears and the hydraulics systems.

In 2000 in frames of consortium contract with Polish and Indian companies, FUGO company participated in building of opencast mine lignite coal of the Neyveli, delivering a caterpillar transporter TC 2000, serving for the transport of driving stations to B=1600, B=2000, B=2400. It was device of a new generation, the first so modern device made in Poland for the mining of the lignite coal. This contract was won in the strong, international competition among others against such companies as: Fordertechnik Krupp, Man Takraf and Voest Alpine.
