GSI FORGED STEEL GRINDING BALLS
MOLY-COP forged and heat treated grinding balls are Premium quality products renowned throughout the world for their combination of grinding efficiency and cost effective performance. Their introduction to the mining and mineral grinding industry was made over 60 years ago. Since then, numerous developments have been made in process automation, chemistry, heat treatment and quality control to achieve a product which today, is unrivaled in the industry.
MOLY-COP balls are manufactured from high carbon alloy steels, using state of the art processing equipment. Actual steel chemistry is tailored according to the ball diameter and grinding application to achieve optimum performance. The high carbon alloy steel bars are forged into balls and processed to give a uniform metallurgical structure. The high hardness structure balance excellent abrasion resistance with sufficient toughness to resist breakage during the ball milling operation.
The strict process control procedures carried out at the ball plant in cooperation with the advanced R&D Centre of Lucchini, combined with the technical know-how of GSI, ensure the consistent high quality of the balls produced.
The availability of raw material and adequate plant capacity enable GSIL to realize very short lead times for the supply of media to markets throughout Europe and Africa.
